About Gordon Grabe, "Heartist"

My friend Gordon was born in Oakland, California, in 1939, and currently resides in Santa Rosa, CA, about an hour north of San Francisco.

He attended the California College of Arts and Crafts, the University of California, and Oakland Junior College.

Gordon has studied oriental art extensively, and has been a commercial and fine artist as well as a book illustrator and furniture maker from 1960 to the present.

His "heartworks" in watercolor, oils, and acrylics reside in many private collections, museums, and corporations.  Below are a few examples of his work in watercolors, using his oriental art background, coupled with his talent for conveying so much in a very simple and elegant way with just a few strokes of a pen or brush.

He also really, really loves animals.
